- Provides an introduction to the fundamentals of classical guitar playing for those with or without prior knowledge of the guitar.
- Covers music reading and theory.
- Requires students to perform alone and in ensemble with other members of the class.
- Augments the syllabus by live performances from outside professional and student classical guitarists.
- Bases final grades on several written examinations and student performance.
